O365 CDNBaseUrl and UpdateChannel Mismatch

If you have some clients that seem to be behind on O365 updates even though the O365 Update deployments show the clients as ‘Compliant’, it could be that you have clients in your environment where the CDNBaseUrl and UpdateChannel values in the registry don’t match.

To easily find out if that’s the case in your environment, you can use this SQL query below:

Select
 S.Netbios_Name0,
 S.User_Name0,
 O.CDNBaseUrl0,
 O.cfgUpdateChannel0,
 O.GPOChannel0,
 O.LastScenario0,
 O.LastScenarioResult0,
 O.VersionToReport0
from v_GS_OFFICE365PROPLUSCONFIGURATIONS O
join v_R_System_Valid S on S.ResourceID = O.ResourceID
where O.CDNBaseUrl0 != O.cfgUpdateChannel0

To make sure those clients start installing updates again, make sure the CDNBaseUrl and UpdateChannel registry values under ‘HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\Configuration’ get matched up again according to what the values should be in your environment.
